Governor Rick Scott is now set to embark on his general election run to unseat Senator Bill Nelson after winning the primary race on Tuesday for the Republican nomination.
However, he took some time this week to weigh in on the general election race to replace him, and he assured that an Andrew Gillum gubernatorial win would not be a step in the right direction for Florida.
He commented on Mayor Gillum’s job as Florida Governor, saying that “We can’t go back to what Charlie Crist did. That’s where Andrew Gillum would take us and we’d have job loss.”
He also added that “That’s not what Floridians want and that’s why I think we’re going to have a big win in November.”
In addition, he was asked if President Trump would be campaigning on his behalf, and he said that “I want everybody that believes in what I’m going to do to come help me win.”
Before the primary elections on Tuesday, President Trump campaigned on behalf of Congressman DeSantis, Congressman Matt Gaetz and Governor Scott, and the President also tweeted out to followers that said lawmakers were the ones to vote for on Election Day.
President Trump also recently took shots at Mayor Gillum on twitter, calling him a failed socialist Mayor.
